At 12:00 p.m. PT, players were able to take part in a new limited-time mode that built on the last week or so of Warzone’s in-game narrative. People dressed like a normal game of Warzone, but an eerily quiet orchestral track and a map positively teeming with (moving!) radiation zones quickly told us this would be a different kind of match.
For all intents and purposes, Destruction of Verdansk Part 1 played out like a full-scale game in infected mode. Players who bit the dust early were automatically converted into the super-powered zombies we saw introduced last week, capable of jumping incredible distances, throwing gas grenades, and disabling electronics with an EMP blast.
All around the map, various Juggernaut Loadout Kits have begun to drop, providing a brief bit of safety from the rapidly growing zombie horde. All the while, a tense radio sound played over the chaos, with unidentified soldiers pleading with their commanders for an extraction.
