GTA Online is an absolute heavyweight when it comes to online multiplayer with just how expansive the game is and how successful it has been. At this point, Rockstar can pretty much let GTA Online stay active for another decade and not suffer heavy losses, as the game seems to be generating enough profit on a daily basis.
The game was central to what made GTA 5 last throughout the decade and remains in the public eye. This kind of success is vital for Rockstar to be able to produce quality games with assured success. Although the game has been incredibly booming, a lot of doubters might have their reservations.
While ultimately it may not be possible to convince everyone, there are a few doubts about GTA Online that new players might still harbor, and here are a few.

#1 – No story content at all
Story mode fans often scoff at GTA Online because they don’t think the game has any story to offer its largely single-player fan base. They’d be surprised to learn just how much story content there is in GTA Online and how well it manages to tell that story.
Whether it’s the Duggan saga with the Diamond Casino or the fantastic upside-down business that is the Doomsday Heist, the game is absolutely story-rich, even with contact missions featuring fan-favorite characters. like Lamar Davis and even Trevor Phillips.
#2 – Shark Pay-to-Win Cards
Shark Cards may have given GTA Online a bad name and given the impression that it’s “pay-to-win” microtransactions that plague the game. While some players do indeed choose to go the Shark Card route , it’s not necessarily the instant “win button” it’s supposed to be.
The most expensive Shark card in the game will not be able to attract players for up to four hours of grinding. Most players choose to grind rather than spend real money in-game, which is why GTA Online remains to this day.
The real problem in the game is the modders and not those who buy Shark Cards to buy an Oppressor MKII.
#3 – Griefer Galore
While GTA Online is pretty unforgiving when it comes to Freemode, it’s not exactly a purely toxic wasteland populated solely by Sorrows. While there’s mostly someone really annoying in a lobby, there are also other great players looking to help out.
Almost every GTA Online player has a story of how a stranger helped them move goods or shipments without them even asking. While it would be an overstatement to say there are no heartaches, not all sessions are always filled to the brim with them.
#4 – Public sessions are a must
A public session is truly the most chaotic way to experience GTA Online in all its glory, but it’s also the most tedious for the aforementioned reason. Still, this is not the only way to experience the game as it allows players to play a single-player session or a closed/invite-only session.
Certain activities like selling goods and products will require players to participate in a public session. Otherwise, players can complete Heist setups in peace in a single-player or private session without risking being hunted down.
#5 – Heists are easy and simple co-op missions
Many often view Heists as a rather simplistic co-op mission with no real threat. Still, there’s so much work in a heist that it’s amazing players can still have that vision.
Heists in 2021 are far more complicated and in-depth than they have ever been. The Diamond Casino Heist and Cayo Perico Heist both feature the most complex moves and require players to carefully plan their approach in order to get the most out of them.
Heists in GTA Online have become a truly cooperative (and even single-player) game mode that requires a lot of work and precision.
